Macarena Flash Mobs

Not long after the Macarena’s initial release, the phenomenon of flash mobs arose. The two were a match made in heaven. Here we recount some of our favorite Macarena inspired flash mobs.

Viborg, Denmark - June 8th, 2011

A group of students at the Skals Boarding School in Denmark created a flash mob for a school project. The requirement of the project was to demonstrate the “definition of happiness.”

Leipzig, Germany - May 29th, 2016 (uploaded)

Berlin may be the capital of Germany, but Leipzig was the center of the Macarena universe when an outdoor festival erupted into a full Macarena flash mob.

Lyon, France - April 16th, 2011

This date will always live in Macarena lore. A large crowd engaged in a flash mob that consisted of a medley of different songs, including, perhaps most notably, the Macarena (the second song after "Be My Lover").
